I am looking to apply to a state school in the state that my parents live in (and I grew up), but have not lived there in 5 years. Can I still use their address as my permanent address or is it frowned upon?

Thanks!

Ask the state school your applying to. But the dead giveaway is your transcripts from HS. They will know your from out of state. Some colleges and University do recognize in state parents. Some give scholarships to make up the difference from in-state and out of state tuition.

I would use your parents' address since you're applying in state it's important to get a financial discount, etc.
