I currently have a 2000 Toyota Corrolla that I bought used just last year from the Toyota Dealership. (It's my 3rd Corrolla that I have bought) Unlike my other Corrollas thought it has not been a great car. Right now the trade in value is $5000 and we owe $8000 because we just had to put a new block in at 65000 miles. I drove a 2006 Corrolla rental and I liked it. I had a little more room than mine does. Basically, I am looking for a good car/small SUV for under $20,000 that get at least 30 miles highway or city a gallon and has a little bit of room in the back. I will probably trade the car I have in now in 2 years and the next car I would like to keep for at least 10 years. Does anyone have any suggestions that would meet what I am looking for?

Do your research on the internet. MSN auto has a great feature with user reviews. This is enormously helpful. I nearly bought a Volkswagon Passat. (German car!) When I read the user reviews I quickly changed my mind. Not good.
I did lots of reading and research. (two years) I finally bought a Lexus and couldn't be happier. It was named # 1 in reliability and quality. I bought mine used and got a good price. Good quality. Good gas mileage. Lots of perks!! It's the best!!

Look at anything not made in Japan or America!

I would get a Volkswagon Polo or Golf. Each is reasonably priced, the fuel economy is excelent and even thought they do cost more to both buy and repair than your typical american gas guzzler, they are so much more reliable, and will keep on running for 20 years easy.

Nobody builds a car like a german builds a car!

Buy a 2007 Toyota Corolla since you liked them so much - for sedan

For SUV - Go with the 2007 Kia Sorrento - my friend's brother has one and he's happy with it. Price is around $20K give or take. You have to buy the 4 cylinder model to get anywhere near 30 mpg on the highway.

properly for $10K your no longer getting a clean automobile, yet extra of a first rate used automobile. $10K gets you a good number of automobile little question. yet your figuring out on very high priced autos even nevertheless they're used. no longer in easy terms to purchase, yet to additionally safeguard & insure. The broker restore shop rates hundred of greenbacks to easily run a working laptop or pc test on autos like those. Given the certainty your wanting a handbook trans, i could seem at Mazda 3. they're enormously rated and extremely solid. If all you going to do is on a standard basis holiday to artwork (and extra), i does no longer spend a good number of money on a automobile you need to place severe mileage on. If this kind of automobile would not have a superb stereo, nav, and so on... then you certainly can get it put in after the certainty.
