You need to install an Adobe utility called PDF Writer. It allows you to print a document directly to a PDF file. Check on the Adobe web site www.adobe.com

You need a pdf printer driver. You can get an adware version from pdf995 or by the driver for $9.95. The adware isn't that bad because it is just one nag screen you can close after you print your doc to pdf.
After you install a pdf printer driver, just print the word doc from file:print. You will need to select the pdf driver as the printer in the printer dialog box. Then print the doc. The pdf driver will ask you where you want the pdf file saved. Easy as that. If converting a whole bunch of word docs, then you will probably have to buy adobe acrobat (very expensive) in order to do batch processing.
Hope this helps, it works for me.

Adobe pro will do it. So will the current stable version Open Office. You could download OO, open the doc and then save it as a pdf.

You can download little programs off the net that will add a printer to your list. You can just print to that and it will make it into a pdf. Office 2007 will have a builtin function that does this.

I don't know of any other way besides buying Adobe software. That is what allows you to write PDF files.
