Re anti-depressants, my doctor recently changed me from Prosac to Cipralex and my libido quickly went to way below--nothing--. After 6-7 weeks I am just starting to feel like I might be a sexual person again.
Some pharmacological literature I have read says this loss of interest/desire et al often returns after 6-10 weeks on the medication. I know 2 people who have been 'asexual' for years due to these meds.
It is the person, the time, the specific anti depresssant in combination -and we ? they are all different. If I do not become as I was in another 4 weeks I am going to ask to go back on Prosac. I have heard--heresay that Remeron is the worst --makes you like neutered!
If I were you I would take the med for 10 weeks, if side effects are still giving you trouble see your doctor and try to go on another type. No matter what--do not stop taking them!!! Until you have seen a doctor!

I took Paxil in September 2004. I stopped taking it in November 2004. I recently came out of that nasty side effect.

I think that is one side effect that does not usually go away. There are antidepressants that do not have sexual side effects. Have you doctor change you to a different antidepressant.

my ex father in law used to take it, and it never did go away on him. He finally got tired of ALL the different side affects and stopped taking it.

THIS IS COMMON, AND PROBABLY WONT GO AWAY. I WAS A MED TECH FOR NURSING HOMES FOR YRS. AND WE ACTUALLY USED SOME ANTI-DEPRESSENTS PURPOSESLY FOR THIS EFFECT IN MORE "FRISKY" PATIENTS.
