Is it normal for kittens to become nicer when they're fixed? She's being way more affectionate than usual. Or did she just miss being home while she was at the hospital?

Is it soon after the operation? If so then its probably all sorts of things. She is probably glad to be back with you and is also still tired. Just enjoy the fact that she is nicer I dont think there can be any bad sideaffects.

Congratulations on being a responsible and loving animal care-taker. Many kitties will act this way once they have been away from their home. An operation is a traumatic experience, no matter how gentle and loving the vet and others at the vets office are. Many female kitties will be a lot more affectionate after they are fixed, they feel less competitive and this may change their temperament for the better. Enjoy your fur baby. I have four female kitties and a female Pom so I am extremely lucky and blessed with all my babies...A lot of cats are naturally very independent, so enjoy the more cuddly time. Have a good night.

Most animals become more docile after spaying or neutering,it's pretty much the same with males and females. Most of it is hormonal They also tend to become lazier so you need to watch weight because it will shorten their life being fat just like us,and fixed animals put pounds on easier, like a steer or a post menopausel woman, bad analogy but true. Watch the weight and they could be with you awhile, our cat Molly is 15 now and healthy as a horse.

maybe she felt scared..
all alone in an unknown place. so she might feel better now that she knows you're not abandoning her. but i don't think the fact of getting her the operation will make her more or less affectionate.

.. i once had this kind of situation. my cat (her name is grilled cheese) as always been very affectionate with me. she was kind with my brother and sister which lived with me at the time. but, one time i went in vacation for a week. when i came back she was soooooooooo sticky. she even started to sleep around my head, over my hair at night. she never did that before, and now, 3 years after, she still does, not every night, but she does it.

i believe cats have feelings and a good memory. so even if you leave for 1day or 1 month, they-ll still remember when you come back home. my mothers cat was like that. my mom didn't gave her much affection. but inevitably, when i came home to my parents, every month or so, as i was putting my keys in the door, she got out of nowhere and greeted me her kind of 'hi, I've missed you'. they remember.. good feelings.. but bad feelings too.

so most probally, she missed you.

awwwww... you kitty is simply seeking assurance and affection from you... why? well, she vaguely remebers being put in some kind of box with grills on it and this aweful vrooom vrooom sound vibrating under her paws and having a sickening sensation of the whole world in motion going somewhere but where? Next thing, the grill door is opened and there's all these strange people poking and jabbing and then a table, lights, a strange man with a green mask and then... blackness.... next thing, she opens her eyes and horror! she can't move her legs....
Was it all a bad dream?

Naturally your kitten is seeking assurance and comfort.

I work at a Veterinary hospital currently and spaying/neutering your pet can "alter" their moods sometimes. Sometimes it even helps with aggression. Your little one could be happy to see you or her temperment could have possibly changed, which isnt a bad thing especially since shes being nice :) If she just came home from the hospital, if you dont already know this, make sure she has an Elizabethan Collar on to help prevent her from licking. I hope this helps and good luck! :)

my cat at the same time as in warmth became the devil! my dad became petting her, she became purring, and each little thing. then she rotated and bit him! she drew blood too! we not in any respect were provided that cat spayed.. in spite of the indisputable fact that the cat I easily have had for form of 9 years, has been spayed.. she became playful, and not in any respect ever recommend, when we were given her spayed, she became an same, the only component that replaced became, in case you opt for to play together with her, she wont start up taking section in with you, you could start up taking section in together with her... she appeared at our living house, had a littler of kittens (she had them at the same time as we were lengthy previous, we didnt recognize she became pregnant) then we spayed her.. she is an outdoors cat, and is presented out and in to sleep, drink, and eat.. we stay proper infront of a street, we've a fence for our dogs although.. she climbs over the fence, and he or she hasn't ever gotten hit by skill of a automobile! and we are proper by skill of a street.. she is a highly intelligent cat!

She's probably just happy to be home. Being at the vet's and handling by strange (though kindly) people is somewhat stressful.

She'll most like be back to her usual rambunctious self by tomorrow.

She is probabaly affected by the surgery, but it is possible that she missed home. Maybe it has something to do with her hormones or something?
