i guess maybe cause black is a more prominent color...it stands out more.......i know my niece has two half colored children and they look more black than white...you would not hardly believe she is their mother at all...she is so white and pretty...figure that one out for me.....i am not racial either but i do believe that white people should stay with white people and colored with colored...but their is so many mixed families any more...and it is hard for some familiess...my grandkids are all white and my sisters is half, and my granddaughter is in my sisters grandsons class and they can not understand why or how they can be kin to each other...and i found it very hard trying to explain this to her....

Black is a stronger color, genetically speaking. However, take a look, there are plenty of bi-racial men and women that look and are mistaken for Native American rather than being bi-racial.

My mother is white (Polish), my father is black (actually, he is black and Cherokee), and I am usually mistaken for Puerto Rican, Mexican, or bi-racial. What I find ironic is that most people don't think I am even part black. And to top that off, my older son (whose father is black and very dark-skinned) is barely darker than me, while my younger son (whose father is also black but not dark-skinned) is usually mistaken for someone else's child because he is so much darker than me! Now, I don't know the answer to your question, but I can't wait to see if someone else does!

And in reference to the woman listed above who doesn't know how to explain to her grandchild and her sister's grandchild how they are related or 'kin', how would you explain it to them if they weren't bi-racial? The same way

The answer to this question is simple, african american traits are more dominant than caucasian's.EX:bigger lips, more athletic, tanned skin complexion, thicker hips for girls and larger hind quarters. african americans express dominant traits of the human genome for all of these genes
