Take the Amtrak from Penn Station to 30th Street Station in Philadelphia. (can be as low as $56 each way, depending on the time of day)
Tranfer there to the R1 line to the airport. $5.50
The R1 is Suburban Rail , like the LIRR, Metro North, or NJ Transit. It stops at all the terminals at the airport, you don't have to transfer to an airtrain like at JFK or Newark.

The television football broadcasters this past weekend were in New York. They took a train to the Philadelphia Monday night football game. A train is good enough for them!!

You could drive or call amtrak to see if they have a train that goes between those cities
