To be deemed competent in CPR you have to demonstrate on a manikin, in front of a qualified instructor.
I have heard of people doing CPR updates on line, and found that the certificate is not accepted in the work place. Its worthless and a waste of money.
If your serious about updating you qualification then do a google on reputable 1st Aid training courses. Such as Red Cross, St Johns ambulance, Royal life etc.
Also keep in mind that CPR rates are changing all the time, you really can't learn of the changes online.

no... you need to meet with a real, live, certified instructor to renew your cpr. part of the deal is that you have to prove to the instructor that you know what to do. also at the classes they update you on changes. i just renewed mine and a lot has changed in 2 years.

god i hope not. i would hate to know that you could do a CPR class on line. I have been certified 5 different times once as a professional rescuer so i know what i am doing but i still would not feel good about taking a class on line

yes:) and I'm sure all of the others that answered your question before me are shaking in their boots. all you have to do is type in cpr and all of the different sites will come up. there is a site that you can log onto, pay with a credit card, and get your certificate.
