Since the Old Testament was in general use long before the church was established, the church could not possibly have given the Old Testament to the world. The New Testament, which records the history of the fulfillment of the Old Testament, gives the life of Christ and His disciples and relates the establishment of and the doctrines of the church? The church, that is, the body of Christ [EPH 1:22, 23], or household of faith [GAL 6:10], is the product of the Word of God–the Bible [ROM 10:17]. If the church did not give the Bible to the world, then who did give us the Bible? The Bible, itself, answers this question when it says: For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spoke as they were moved by the Holy Spirit [2PE 1:21] and further that, All Scripture is given by inspiration of God [2TI 3:16].

The Bible is a product of collected sermon's and letters to churches expounding doctrine in the 1rst century. These letters were collected, authenticated by students of the Apostles and organized for the teaching of the church. That's the New Testament. The Old was a collected History of the folks who eventually became the Jews, all authenticated, some were rejected (like the Catholic Apocryphal Books)and put together for teaching in the Synagogue and for the Christian to see how prophecies written there were now fulfilled.
That's the extreme short version.

The Bible is the Holy Word of God. Given to man through the Holy Spirit. The church is the forming together of those men (and women) and many others since then to learn of, worship, and praise God. The Bible was written many years before the church began. God tells us to "not forsake the forming together" (ie: go to church) in his Word. I think neither is a product of the other, they work hand in hand with each other. Also the Bible is a tool for many Christains- it guides us , teaches us, inspires us , humbles us. It was written for you and I. The church is also a tool for us Christains - we strengthen each other, pray for each other, love each other, and await the return of our Lord.

Before the apostles of Jesus, there was no church, so… logically the Bible came first. If you've read the history contained in the Old Testament concerning the Jewish people, you would see that there really couldn't be a church first. Reading is fundamental.

It is the Catholic Church which testifies to the divine, inerrant, and inspired nature of all sacred scripture.

Jesus founded a Church, not a Bible.

Jesus gave authority to his Church ... not the Bible.
