What exactly is african american hair? I do not understand does it change the way it looks from regular plain old african hair or american hair? Is this some kind of new hybrid thing or is just a way to say your black.
I am a white american male and cannot figure out why in the united states black people must segregate themselves from the rest of the citizens of the united states by calling themselves african americans. By the way i am not racist I have many friends that are not white. These people are not african americans anymore than I am. Most of them have never even been to africa. Could someone please tell me why this is? I feel that if you are a citizen of the USA than you should call yourself an plain old ordinary american. I am not a native american, so obviously my ancestors are not from north america, but I do not go around calling myself a german american or english american, so why should anyone else who lives in america want to segregate themselves from the rest of society and classify them selves as something other than an american. The only exception to this I can see is if someone is born in a different country and would still like to show their loyalty to there birth country. Is it so wrong that we as people say we are white, black, asian , indian?

Vitamins a good idea, but African American hair needs to be trained and well cared for. If you really want it to grow and get healthy, talk to a hair specialist, go to the beauty supply store and ask questions. Let them know what you are going for and don't let them talk you info a bunch of extension. You can do it and it will look great. I like african american hair, in tiny little braids, not with extensions, but with natural hair. Pretty and natural and the braids will help it to maintain a more straight look for you.

No magic and this will take time. Get to a Beauty Supply Store or Sally's. Get shampoo/condition that is to promote hair growth. I use Doo Gro products but they have many. Also get your hair trim with the full moon (old wives tale, but i still do it). U should get hair trim every 6-8 weeks. Also get a deep conditioner to use 1-2x/week. It will start growing, watch the heat u put on it because heat takes alot out of your hair. Watch your perms and dye jobs if u do either. Just keep at it. U will see results. U may also want to take prenatal vitamins which promote hair and nail growth. They also another vitamin just for hair and nails growth.

Invest to find a well hair care character. Usually men and women that variety DO NOT understand how to deal with hair so watch out to not confuse the 2. If they may be able to variety and likewise deal with hair then that is GREAT! You will recognise if they're a hair care expert if they've consumers that experience lengthy hair. Doesn't must be all the way down to their knees however it has a healthful seem and is almost always beyond their shoulders. There might be the ones with brief haircuts however you'll observe that the majority in their consumers have a well duration of hair. Throw away the flat iron, curling iron, gel, grease, hairspray and ponytails. Have a reliable layer and rollerset your hair. Once you are taking the rollers out - wrap it up. When you comb it down you'll have a bouncy lovely variety(when you consider that you obtained it layered which offers it form so you do not seem like a granny) and you'll be able to like it. After a pair days it is going to cross instantly however nonetheless have frame and leap. Me and my avatar have the identical variety besides I have a moderate aspect bang that comes over the brow just a little however it is essentially the identical frame and wave layer. I get washed and rolled as soon as per week. A blank scalp promotes hair development. I wrap it up and cross day-to-day. I like it. If you can not do as soon as per week, cross each different week. Keep the curling iron out of the hair. Stop hanging grease and gel. Keep the ends clipped. The hair care reliable may also have reliable force merchandise. I use Mizani or Design. You can not purchase those merchandise in a cosmetic deliver until you're a certified beautician. A hair care expert will frequently must do somethings or take steps to get your hair to a healthful state. They might be ready to inform you what is going to paintings great for you at the same time your transitioning from bad hair to healthful hair. If you reside within the bay subject name Melissa at Level five in San Leandro. Good success to you.

make sure you trim yourends regularly, i read somewhere that protective hair styles make your hair grow and girl, they do! I am a witness. Protective hair styling is like braids, weaves(not too tight) or ponytails covered in Protein Gel (hairstyles where the ends of your hair are protected) try to wear your hair (even with a hair piece) in the protein pony and see if it doesn't grow. I have noticed such a difference. and you don't have to justwear ponytails, you can wear Lace Front Wigs(my new discovery go to google to look this up) it looks like the hair is growingout of your scalp! , braids ,weaves, insta-weaves,(check that out on google too) wigs, etc. my hair was bald in the back girl! you know what i did, I used to gel it down with protein gels (brown no alcohol!!) Trust me it works, give it time. But there are so many options, oh yeah.. and condition at least 1 a week (hot oil ,or deep condition) and NO MORE HEAT STYLING!Breaks your ends
