the best thing I can suggest is read up about the history of aviation. This will come in very handy.Rememebr! Aviation did not start with the wright brothers!!!! Leonardo DiVinci made drawings of a helicopter. The chinese flew kites thousands of years ago. I went to an A&P school, now I'm an engineering major. If you have any questions, let me know some how, and I'llget back to you. As far as learning about the parts used in airplanes, you should probably start by doing some research on the most common types of jets flown today, and what engines they use. You could spend hours trying to figure out how many different engines are oiut there. learn the basics of how a recipricating engine works. (even look at a manual for your car engine, and you can learn about recips) Then read about turbines, and compare the differences.Too much to tell in this block! Hope it helps

Make sure you go to an aviation school. Get into Avionics if possible. All airlines at this day in time are computer generated. I know that "Northroph" (sp) is a highly techincal school.
