Yes, salads are safe to eat, but even if the package says that it has been washed and/or triple washed you might want to wash it again anyway. ALWAYS wash your produce.

Actually, most experts say now that spinich is safe to eat. Scrubbing the lettuce doesn't always work, however, because if the E-coli poisoned the water that helped the spinich plant grow, then it would have grown up through the leaves and actually be IN, not ON the spinich. Other salads are fine to eat now, though. Good question.

As far and I am aware salads and lettuce are ok to eat. Only spinach and spinach containing salads should be avoided, for up to date information on this e coli outbreak check out the following:

It actually isn't recommended that you re-wash your pre-washed packaged salads. The risk is greater if you wash it due to cross-contamination.
In the case of the e-coli outbreak, you could wash that spinach all day long and you'd still get e-coli. Washing doesn't kill that strain.
But in answer to your question, go ahead and eat salad. It's as safe as anything else is.

Nothing's wrong with lettuce, just E. coli in the spinach from a certain growing area.

You by no potential get on a crowded bus and scent the poor stink you get with some white people who do no longer bathe adequate. There are human beings everywhere who do no longer wash their palms precise after going to the bathing room, even in the u . s .. That stated, i think of the least complicated style of terrorist attack may be something bacterial or viral. i do no longer propose considered one of those element.

Supposedly you shouldn't even eat lettuce yet. Pretty scary for me. I love vegetables, etc and that's all I can think of when I go to the store. I won't even buy a burger with everything anymore.
