peanut butter is loaded with protein, don't waste time with diets that don't work (the south beach diet)

It is both, there is sugar in peanut butter. It is not allowed on phase 1 of SB because there are virtually no carbs allowed but peanut butter has the fat in it that is really good for you and I would use it on a diet. Use 2 tbs or less however a day.

Depends, alot of peanut butter has sugar in it. If it is natural peanut butter probably could be a protein. The commercial peanut butter has carbs because of the sugars added.

Peanut butter is high in protein but also in fat. I believe its has carbs,too but the bread is high in carbs. I know nothing about south beach diet. I use trimspa and common sense.

peanut butter is a protien with a few carbs in it ( around 3 or 4 grams per tbsp.) so honestly i say go ahead and eat loads. when i was on my diet (which i lost 20 pound from) I practically lived off of it.

peanut butter has loads of protein. if u do a lab test adn take straight iodine to peanut butter it turns black and it looks disgusting but it means its laoded with protein. i took a lab test for this one. u can always have too much of something so as long as u dont over do eating peanut butter i think u should be fine.

Read the lable of everything you eat and figure out where it fits into your diet. Everything prepackaged sold in stores today has this really nice label in black and white on the back or the side of the package. It tells you all kinds of neat things about what the food inside contains. Things like carbohydrates and protein, just to name the primary two you're concerned with.

Read the label on the jar. It's protein and fat. Don't know about South Beach, I just watch what I eat to stay slim. But, I love pb on bananas or apples.

Protien, I am pretty sure you are allowed peanut butter in phase 1, but i would stick to a reduced fat peanut butter and use sparingly.
