Good question. I am proud of who and what I am because I come from a long line of very proud, strong people. Now, heres the best argument that the opposition can come up with:

"Shut the hell up you ignorant piece of crap... Asians DO take pride in their heritage so do Indians... the only ones who can't do that is whites HAHAHAAHAHHAHAA we won't allow them because they're already famous for being racist AHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAA go jump off a bridge. "
MR. VOCAL, Are you refering to Indians from India? There are many varied tribes in that part of the world also, They are proud too. Or do you refer to Indians from North America? Find the politically correct terminology if you refer to MY peoples.
Thank you for asking this question.

There is a pride in your heritage. Even if you personally had nothing to do with your genetic make up, you can be prideful of who you are. My problem is when these sixed through tenth generation AMERICANS claim their heritage and do not include American as their past. Most (quote)"African Americans"(enquout) are about 17% European. I am a white guy. I've had the genetic test run on me. I am a mutt from waaaaaayyyyyyyyy back. I have all sorts of English blood in me. I also have German, Scottish, Alaskan, Irish, Native American, and (to my shame) I am 2% french. I don't quote some mysterious "heritage". I am an American pure and simple.

Well...Im Asian...and...I agree with you. I think that most people arent very prideful in their nationality in Indians in particular. In America at least, there is a pressure to conform to the "norm" which asians usually dont fall into. This is the reason that I think asians wont tak as much pride as we are probably due. Also, I think that theirs a whole thing with Asians trying to stay below the radar. Many believe that if you stay somewhat unnoticed, there will be less problems for us overall.
Oh....and power to you for stating a question which is more then a google search away.

Oh, I'm sorry to correct you, but I know plenty of asians who are full of "Asian Pride" - for example, they stay "mellow with the yellow" - and even within the asian culture, it is rare to see a Korean marry a Vietnamese - Koreans have too much pride. I've got no prob with this at all - I just think that Americans (U.S.) don't have much of a sense of this pride since we are a huge melting pot. But that's what makes us different from any other nation - we are not homogenous.

i'm white and that i haven't ever been given any variety of privilege. it is so humorous, some human beings think of that in the time of case your born white your born with a starter kit believe fund or something. those of you who have self belief that white human beings have it much less complicated or have an earnings have it *** backwards. I grew up in selma Ca, I went to selma severe college and my graduating classification consisted of 38 white human beings and over 500 hispanics. i replaced into jumped a entire of 6 circumstances in the time of severe college and almost positioned into acoma because of the fact i replaced into White and that i stood up for myself, the only guy or woman who did in that faculty certainly. All day long the mexicans could walk by and stare the white human beings down and in case you made eye touch they could start up **** and say stuff like "you acquire a concern ese?" or "Pinche Gringo" In California, until eventually you reside in an top center classification white community white each and every physique is the minority and are taken care of horrlibly. yet while a black guy went to a considered one of those top center classification white neighborhoods he does not experince one little bit of racism (until eventually he replaced into dressed like a gangster and had no business enterprise being there. yet that would ensue to a White trash guy or woman too.

Unnecessary racial pride might be stupid, but when for centuries other races and tried to convince you that your race should be categoried as part of the animal kingdom and considere themselves a the superior race... that is a total different story isn'i it?

it is genetically coded to have feelings of pride in one's own...you share the most genes with people of your own race -- and with the new theories of gene selection taking the scientific community by surprise, it is no wonder. Our genes are selfish and all the DNA want to do is replicate themselves....Therefore, by taking pride in our culture, we are taking pride in things our own... Good enough answer?
If yes, you're a smart one.
If no, go to college.

I agree with you that it's silly to be proud of your skin color. No one chooses their skin color (except Michael Jackson).
You can be proud you're a good person. You can be proud you're smart because you studied hard. You can be proud you got a raise, etc.
But proud of skin color or ancestry?? That makes no sense.
