wow hold on david you dont wann do this i will tell you why you run windows xp now if you try to install this microsoft vista it will do a clean install and all your windows xp will be gone &all your files now this microsoft vista is beta version your have to put in your pc drivers if you dont have the driver as back up on cd your gnna have big problems you dont wanna install microsoft vista its not gonna be a good thing to do , but if you want to then this is up to you . you use a dvd( r) to burn the file on cd but microsoft vista , is more problems than you can ever think of so think if you dont have windows xp & your motherboard & drivers cd dont install microsoft vista

well you can forget cd-rs AND cd-rws.
the size of vista runs in excess of 3gb so you aint gonna get it on a 700mb disc no matter what you do with the downloaded files. you will need at least a blank dvd-r to burn it to.
vista should only be installed if you want to try it and you've backups of everything on your pc because it will wipe your hard drive when it installs - plus because it's only beta and requires activation so it won't 'expire' it cannot really be used as your main operating system for any amount of time.

It comes on a CD-rom, you cannot download it, you have to buy it, or a computer that has it for the OS.
