I agree, I get tired of it, it gets boring after awhile. I worry that there are a lot of kids here, and we should all be mindful of that. I believe one person's right to free speech ends when others are offended by vulgarity and obscenity. There are lots of web places for those people, who wish to offend, go find them.
Some people have a need for attention, and will get it however they can. It is called negative attention, and every 2 year old knows what it is and how to use it.
My particular favorite [hear the sarcasm?] was someone going to the food and drink section, and asking about gravy. Not the stuff you make with flour and meat drippings, the slang for body fluids kind, the author described in a grahic way, all about it.. Or advising a 10 year old that her physical problem is being caused by a perverted contact with her father, and it was stated very graphicly. Parents: take note, and monitor the kids computor use.
The obscene computor names are just more of the same. They say hoooeee, look at me! I'm sexy, I'm perverted, give me some attention!
We all have different reasons for being here, to learn, to help someone else, to compete for points, to get best answer votes, to be an expert, to get noticed, to make a connection to another human because of loneliness, or some combination of those. I just wish the perverted reasons for being here, weren't here. I wish we could all be more respectful and courteous.
Thank you for asking this question.

I don't think it is a lack of creativity, I think it is a total lack of character, common sense and decency. They are just looking for shock value I guess. However, they should be more mindful that there are a great deal of children on this site.

I won one in the present day from a quick time back, and it replaced into completely uncalled for. They even pass over the 'reason'. i think of a international violation protest day could be referred to as for,the place all yahoo customers pass on strike for an afternoon, to wake those human beings up at yahoo. on the top of the day the place could they be without us? there is not any think approximately complaining as your protest is thoroughly skipped over. (i will probably get violated for this answer now!)

Because some people lack basic dignity and respect. Like you, they don't shock or offend me (I hear a lot of them around work), but then I find it disrespectful, too. Keep in mind, though, what some people find obscene, others don't. My mom thought "butt" was obscene when I was a kid, and I got in trouble for saying it.

Sorry but they shock me when I come across something on-line that my child just saw while on-line with him/her these names and picture violate the TOS of Yahoo and should not be allowed on this site there are plenty of other sites to do this type of stuff that my children have no access to. Why do we have to make it into a x rated site there are tons of kids on here? Please use some common sense. So glad to see other concerned parents on this site.

shakes head.. another one who wishes to control the way users present themselves.
develop a sense of humor or just don't use this service.
everyone has entitlement whether or not you agree.
and why, because you don't like the names, do you assault the person(s) by demeaning them via your comment? what does creativity have to do with just a user name?
creativity comes with the individual themself.
try being open minded about this, books can't be fully appreciated just by their covers in most cases.
thanks.

Cheap promotional way to tell people their intention without having to say it outloud.

Perhaps so. But Mary isn't exactly a creative user name either.

I don't do it, so I can't answer with any authority, but my best guess would be lack of maturity, coupled with perhaps a level of sexual dysfunction. People who are okay with themselves and their sexuality don't need to draw attention to it.
