how do i get my windows media player to play vidoe aswell as audio?

my windows media player plays only a black screen on all my video clips even dvds im aware that certain codecs are needed to play certain downloaded clips but this is all of the clips even ones ive played and seen before im sure i must have changed something but im not sure what

Maybe you have accidently changed the default player to some other player. To change it back, right-click on the file>Open with> check the box that says "always use this program", and choose WMP again.

Everytime i tried to take heed to mp3's or watch mpg's, the Quicktime participant saved doping up fairly of homestead windows Media participant. So all I did develop into bypass to regulate Panel, then I uninstalled the Quicktime application from my computer. yet in case you want to maintain Quicktime fairly of uninstalling it, then i believe you could open up your homestead windows Media participant and set it as your default participant.
