All girls desire different things. I personally would want to be wisked off to some romantic little spot for a picnic or be given something that I had breifly mentioned one day. It shows that my guy pays attention to me and really wants to show me that he cares. For a more shallow or high maintenance girl, then some jewelry or something like that would be good. Or give her a spa day somewhere.

All of us women loves little gifts of all kinds. You can always give the flowers, jewlery, etc... which is nice and we love it, BUT if you really want to touch her hear, I think you should give the gift from the heart. Think of something you have done together, it could be a place you two went and really enjoyed, a moment you shared, etc. Then pick your gift that would remind the both you of that moment. For example, it could be as simple as you two had dinner together and there was a certain kind of flower on the table, give her an arrangement of those flowers and tell her the reason why in a card in YOUR own words. You could say something like, Remember the night we went to ___________. We talk and laughed with each other. We had such a great time together. I wanted to give you something that reminded you of that night. There were yellow roses on the table. I wanted to give you something of that night in which you made me feel very special to have you in my life.
Some thing like that.....you get my point. It doesn't have to be flowers, it could be a cd of the music that was playing.

I got flowers for my birthday from my boyfriend and I considered myself to be the happiest girl in the world. Of course that was my birthday, not Valentine's Day.
But that is just me. Every girl likes different things. If there is a girl who is happy from the most simple things in the world, then flowers really is a good gift. But for a girl with high expectations.....good luck.

Im a simple person so the little things make me happy. He make dinner and the tell me a poem. Hand me roses and just cater to me,espeacially if i have been catering the whole time we are in the relationship.

I would want a neclace or bracelet, I wouldn't care as much about the price as long as it wasn't cheesy. I would wear it often and would think about him everytime I wear it. =]
