Alcohol reduces inhibitions and the more you drink the more loose you get. If he starts out angry and agressivve before drinking, it will just make him more apt to act out and get mean when he is drinking. Best thing -- shouldn't drink. If not possible, should drink when already aggrevated. Also, some spirits affect people in different ways -- some are fine on vodka, but gin makes them mean, some fine on gin, but bourbon makes mean. Need to identify.

The only way is if he stops drinking or don'tlet him call people on the phone. My husband does similar things but he is not talking on the phone it is usually to your face. He always feels bad about it after but the damage is done. he realizes he needs to quit but he will have to ask for help on his own and with the help of Jesus Christ he might just have a chance. He has to want the help.

Check out this website. It has to do with alcohol and anger.

Your partner most likely has an alcohol problem. Unfortunately it will be VERY difficult to help him until HE realizes that he needs help.

I've often heard alcohol referred to as "liquid courage". I think it makes people feel like it's okay to do things they normally wouldn't--they think it's okay because they were drunk, or they "couldn't help themselves". I think you should read up on AA, what it's about and how it may help him. I wouldn't actually tell him he needs to join, because that may make him feel pushed. Ease it on him gently.

Some people get lovey dovey when they're drunk.

Some people get aggressive and angry when they're drunk.

You can't help him. He has to want to help himself.'
