My friend would like to know something, and she doesnt have yahoo so Im helping her out. Here is her question:
I have never had a cavity before. I was looking at my teeth since I am getting braces in 3 days, and the top ones, on the biting surface, most have a yellowish tint to them. Is this normal? Does this mean I have 4 cavities on my top teeth since 4 have a tiny yellowish tint? The teeth are not sensitive to any foods, but hurt for like 2 seconds litereally at random times. Does this sound like a cavity? Or just sensitive teeth? PS-I BRUSH MY TEETH 2 TIMES A DAY AND FLOSS ONCE A DAY USUALLY!

First off, i'm sure they are just nothing more than stains. It's normal, i assure you. If your due to have braces in 3 days... I'm sure your Orthodontist has already given you, your exam and has already taken the necessary x'rays. If he had noticed you having cavities, he would have told you! Orthodontist, wont apply your braces before your dental work is done. In rare cases will they. Your Orthodontist works with your Dentist, on your treatment. So, no worries...

That does sound a lot like some of the first symptoms I had of cavities.

The stains are either a deeped stained grove (normal) or sealant materials from the past that can stain. Did you have sealants done a few years ago? These are most likely not cavities.
