No...they're just trying to sell their product. don't fall prey to the advertising.
I just saw that diet on tv the other day. It makes me mad because it misleads people

I have a bowl every morning with chopped fresh fruit and 1% milk. The key is do not "pour yourself a bowl". Get a measuring scoop and measure out 1 serving according to the side of the box; 1 1/4 cups if I recall correctly. Also the plain kind; not strawberry or any other flavour. No white sugar either.
I've been having this for breakfast for well over a year and have steadily been losing weight. I would not attributing my weight loss completely to my breakfast. An overall change in diet and exercise produced my results; however, the cereal is easy, light, nutritious and minimal cost. It really tastes great with fresh fruit.

Actually it really does i did if for 1 month. I ate a bowl in the morning, and then a bowl in the afternoon, and then dinner. I ended up losing around 12 pounds. If i would have kept it up i would have lost a lot more but that is all i wanted to lose, so i just exercise to keep off the rest.It was a good jump start to getting healthy it makes you feel better too. But it has alot to do with your metabolism too and if you exercise with it, you cant expect to lose weight with out exercise.

it works but only because you are eating only a bowl of cereal for two meals a day! it's about a few steps up from being anorexic.

It sure can. If you don't eat much, and you exercise you will get thinner.
