My hair has SO much static... no matter what I do. Blow dry, not blow dry, straighten, leave natural, brush... static is EVERYWHERE! I started trying to use gel or hairspray, no luck. The fabric softeners don't work either. I haven't been able to wear my hair down to school since 6th grade... 5 YEARS!!! Is there anything anyone knows to do? The hairbows are starting to really damage my hair so I need no static so I can wear it down!

Static hmm? Maybe it could be the sort of surface that you walk on. Alot of static comes from carpeted area.. In that case, just touch a surface.. If you are still prone to alot of static, it could be your diet and you have too much of a charge in your body. Try and exercise then. That's if you believe in the electrical strength of the body being effected by your daily habits. So, try exercise, or discharging it somehow..

You can try the following and should see results in a short time.

1. Get a deep-conditioning moisturizing treatment.
2. Use a heat protectant spray and leave-in conditioner before blow-drying.
3. Use the lowest setting possible on the dryer.

My only suggestion is to keep a small spray bottle of water handy and a wide tooth comb. As often as possible, spritz the comb with water and run through your hair.

I would also use a product such as John Frieda's Frizz Ease (something with dimethicone or silicone) to help those flyaways not pop up. Also, get a trim every six months to keep hair healthy.

try a leave in conditioner like
neutrogena triple moisture
or
lustrasilk right on curl
they both work for me.
or you could try cutting down on the # of times you wash your hair-like every other day if you wash it every day.
good luck

try to use a leave in conditioner or a silk serum. this will leave your hair nice and smooth, and without static.
