without getting pregnant? Having a pet is a rewarding experience! When the pet is going through an unhealthy period, you may seem that it will never end. But it always does. Passed much unhealthy dog problems, and it's nice to sit back and enjoy the good, healthy times presently. It's a shame that Idiots who mistreat their pets DON'T know and don't bother to make conditions better.
But, back on track. Since, baby-days are over for me----the dog is my BABY!

If you love and care for your pet, yes it is condsidered as your baby, even if you don't think of it exactly like that. Trust me, I have two handfuls of love and they both walk on four legs.
And yes, it's a shame that people are so cruel to their animals. I once adopted a dog when I was young, because he has been neglected TWICE and sent back to a shelter TWICE because the previous owners thought he was too big and thought he was a waste of room. I once was even told to send him back to the shelter but I never gave up on him and now, he is in heaven. Due to old age.

You know the main reason why the pet market is going nuts is because people are waiting until it is too late to have babys, so they get a dog for a replacement baby! Then there are some people who never want kids and that need is filled with pets! I have 3 human kids and am preg with #4 AND I have 2 cat baby's ,1 dog baby, 7 hermit crabs and a tank full of fishes! The laws for abusing a pet are more stict then abusing humans. So I think the point is slowly being made.

I don't like it when people refer to animals /pets as their children and so on. I have always had pets and dearly love them and spend quite a lot of time with my pets and am loved back in return but do not refer as my children. I always take the responsiblity of pet ownership very seriously and educate myslf to the needs of the pet-like when a domestic rabbit showed up in my yard read all I could so I knew exactly what its needs were, this rabbit is now 12 years old and has had a very happy rabbit life-bunny proof room(no cage for my bunny) and its own litter box and so on. But then as long as the dog or other pet(s) gaet the best care and is Loved it doesn't matter what one calls them-certainly the pet doesn't care for Love is Love

I know what you mean! I had a Siamese that was my baby, long before I had kids. And I have my animal "babys" still, both dog and cat variety. They end up being one of the family.I agree, people should be more responsible and care for their pets. Animals are not disposable! They have feelings too!!
