why is it that I see so many really hot girls with average or even below-average guys. But you never see a hot guy with a less attractive girl.
I know a lot of you will say it's b/c the average guy treats her right, but there are lots of hot guys who would treat the hot girl right, so she could have a hot guy.
Is there something i'm missing, like insecurity on the hot girl's part about him cheating, or something? And are hot girls with average guys really as happy in the relationship as the average guy who has done better than himself?

I've wondered about this myself, especially with shows like "King of Queens," etc. portraying it. I think girls, especially when we're younger, are a little more likely to see beyond the physical aspect. It may play in to security/well-being too--beautiful girls feel more appreciated with an average guy who feels like he's incredibly lucky.

My feeling is that a lot of hot guys tend to be players (or at least are perceived that way) -- so women who want a more lasting relationship end up sticking with less attractive, but more reliable men. Also, a less attractive man is more likely to persistently pursue a particular woman than some hunk who is used to having his pick of the room.
Finally, yes, I think that women, for whatever cultural or biological reason, are less looks-oriented than men.

**NEWSFLASH** Looks don't matter b/c eventually they will fade. I don't know but guys seem to be much more "visually stimulated" than women. I as a 19 year old female tend to value a guys character and personality over his looks. You can find something of the person attractive, be it physical/character. Like you might think a guy I like is not attractive, but I may think he has a wonderful sense of humor and has beautiful eyes or a great smile. Maybe the girl likes him for him, not as a piece of arm candy.

That is because women are more willing to look at the person inside the skin while men tend to look at the person on the outside only. Men want a "trophy" to show off for the other guys.

The girl may not think she is that hot and may be going out with someone that she thinks is more on her level.
