Everyone seems to think building a fence along the border is unreasonable and would be to expensive and so on but I was thinking of a possible sollution.
What if we gave non-violent/sex offending criminals serving 5 or less years in jail an option to work on a border fence. Say we offered them 1 day off their sentence for every 8hr labor day they worked (or something similar). This would virtually cut all labor cost of building a fence while also giving criminals work skills that could keep them off the streets later in life.

Thats a very good idea. Years ago people were forced to work while they were in prison and while it did not stop all repeat offenders it did make a difference. Some came out with a trade. Then businesses started to complain about competing with the cheap labor. I do like your idea though. and while the fence may not stop a lot of them it should slow them down a little(hopefully)
Or as a better solution tell the prisoners that when they finish the fench they can go to mexico and live there if they want. see how the mexican authorities like it when the shoe is on the other foot.

The only reason that anything was done about the Mexican border while Chinese are coming in in freight containers on boats, and terrorists are crossing the Canadian border along with people are coming in on boats and in airplanes saying they are Cubans and getting political asylum as Cubans when some are definitely terrorists because they caught some in Cuba trying to get false identification is because the president when he is not president anymore will be living there.
He does not give a damn about anyone but himself shown by his running off during 911 until the government and military got ahold of him and told him to calm down. The man is a self centered person it has nothing to do with wanting to make the US more secure.

All those DUI'S who pick up trash along the highway should be transported to build that fence. There's enough of them around without needing sex offenders out and about they need to stay locked up and locked down.Sex offenders do horrible crimes and deserve no mercy or time off.

wish that they could decide a thank you to have an more desirable government so as that they could have a rustic greater like ours. they have a alluring u . s . and it has maximum of super supplies! they have have been given to get administration of their prepared criminals! in the event that they could replace their government and make it good, perhaps we could all be crossing the border and permitting them to have this one (exceptionally now that ours has grow to be so plenty greater corrupt) : ) there is not any concern on their area. we are so delicate on crime that they do no longer care in the event that they get caught. the only fence it is going to paintings to maintain people away is an electric fence stable sufficient to maim or kill.

Hey yeah--I'm all for prisoners working on projects to cut down their sentences but not at the expense of skilled trades. You wanna put em to work let them do those jobs "americans" won't do. Like cleaning up slums, highways, picking crops, building wooden walk ways/stairs at National parks. Why give the company in charge of the project the ability to have a next to zero labor cost? Why don't you just hire the illegals and exploit them? I say bid out the contract to the lowest bidder in the area and have them build it---not this no bid b.s. deal to another rich defense contractor!!

Why can't anybody see the fence is a total waste of money. It doesn't matter if you make it 50 ft tall with razorwire at the top, the illegals will still find a way in. It doesn't matter what your opinion is of illegals, for or against, the fact is we are wasting taxpayer money on a fence that will prove useless. In fact I seriously believe that this will only increase immigration, from those who wish to simply defy it.

Does anyone see that the idea of a fence or wall is just a tactic to get us off their case for allowing illegals? Doesn't anyone see how they think we are all stupid enough to think that is a solution?

The solution is to enforce the immigration laws. There would be no problem if the laws were enforced. There would be no illegals because the laws would be enforced.

You mean that you're proposing that we utilize labor from our bustling "prison industry" to build a monument to everything that runs counter to the "American Way". How come New York City has the Statue of Liberty that welcomed immigrants and the Mexican-American Border has a wall? (To answer your question properly, I don't believe that it is a good idea.)

I disagree with your inclusion of "sex offenders" as non-violent criminals. What the hell were you thinking to say this?
