But why be rude to try to get followers, why not try being patient and kind.

The examples are on answers. Look up a question about evolution from a Christian and watch how the person is slain with rude comments. Mostly from a person who believes they are evolutionists.

We do not mock evolution, we are curious about your reasoning to believe. Most of us have read the books.

Sometimes it gets very tiring to see the same type of statement(question) over and over with misstatements of fact that any child in grade 4 should know better than. Often the asker has had the correction explained before, and the patience wears thin. And some of us are just as rude as other people are. At least atheists when the condemn you to hell are just being rude. OH, by the way, I know where Hell Is and how to get there. check it out.

You are calling us rude and asking us to be polite, when the text below is a "copy and paste" of an answer that you wrote to me? (Link provided below) After severely reprimanding me for my evils, you end with "Peace be with you" and then think you have been polite? Perhaps you could consider practicing what you preach. If I have ever been rude to you personally, I apologize, but in all honesty, I am certainly unaware of it.
"Why are you comparing your children to your dogs? You are one of the angriest athiests I have come across on yahoo answers. Why don't you just let people believe what they want to believe, pehaps then you won't be bombarded with the truth to seek Jesus. Although you seem concerned and keep bringing it up. Perhaps you are seeking Jesus after all. To you really think your life and the life of your children are meaningless?? That there is no purpose?? No more purpose than your dog? I think people know right from wrong... what Christians are saying is that accepting Jesus imprints the 10 comandments on your soul so to speak. Not following the 10 commandments give a person a sense of guilt. Until they repent, they will feel guilty. Do you feel guilty by thrashing people continually on this site? I think not. I would if I were you. I will thank you, though, more people like you on the site make athiests look terrible and Jesus more desirable. Peace be with you. "

Please allow me to borrow your title question, and alter it in a few ways, if you will. It's certainly an eye opener.
Why are some Christians so rude when answering a question?
Why are some Muslims so rude when answering a question?
Why are some People so rude when answering a question?
Do you see now that your question can be applied to everyone across the board?
Politeness IS appreciated, but you will be hard pressed to find that politeness when you direct a derogatory question or statement to a particular group. You would have done better to ask why people are rude when answering questions. Then no one would end up feeling as if they had come under attack.

Possibly because the question deserves a rude answer. How many times have the same questions been asked about why we don't believe the garbage in the bible to be true? You can only answer the question so many times befor getting ticked off. And why are people insisting on asking the exact same question day after day, after day. Do they think they will break us down and we will say they are correct. The bible has no proof, it was just a way for ignorant people to explain things they didn't understand, and most of what it says has been proven wrong dozens of times. If creationists can't accept that, then too bad, wallow in self pity and ignorance, but don't try to drag the rest of the world with you.

Perhaps because people look to creationist sources for information on evolution instead of scientific sources for information on evolution.
Then, for the 1 millionth time, some ignorant jerk comes here and says "Well I'm a christian and how come if men evolved from monkeys there are still monkeys? So put THAT in your pipe and smoke it Charles Darwood!"
That's the reason. With all of the resources available to people to learn this stuff, the same ignorant crap is still running rampant as though it's supposed to be some "proof" that invalidates evolution.

There are rude people in every culture, every religion, and in every non-religion. I see a lot of rude "christian" answers here too, which is kind of worse, since their belief system supposedly teaches them to be kind, while agnostics and atheists have no such admonition to live by (though they should be kind simply because it's the right thing to do).
By the way, there's no such thing as an "evolutionist." Adding that "-ist" to the end implies someone who *believes* in evolution...there's no need to believe or not believe, there are just facts and evidence to evaluate. Belief is a religious thing, not a scientific thing.
Peace.

Well, when people who don't believe in evolution ask loaded questions that demonstrate no knowledge of the subject and an extreme bias towards the subject, a bias so extreme that it indicates they are attempting to answer their own question merely by asking it, what exactly were you expecting? If you ask a question with no intentions of hearing the answer, then why are you entitled to polite behavior? Creationists don't ask questions about evolution to be enlightened. They ask these questions to mock and belittle. Then they receive mockery and belittlement in kind.

This is not a knock on you, I missed your original question so I appologize for not being able to answer it. But when you said you heard that there are no stupid questions only stupid answers I immediatly thought of the quote "There are no stupid questions, only stupid people." Again this is not directed towards you. It just popped into my mind and made me laugh, and I hope sometime in the future you will hear that and think of this and you will laugh.

An example, please. I cannot comment on behavior if I don't even know what it is other than that your opinion of the behavior is that it was "rude".
I would also suggest asking the person directly, as there are a million things that could be making a person act in any particular way.

I have seen equally rude answers given by Christians to "non-believers."
Atheists are not the only rude people here.
