From my own personal experience a couple of years ago with Lexapro, YES, they can work that quickly. I know it's said it takes a couple of weeks, but I beg to differ... I felt great after about 3 days too. It felt too good to be true. I don't know if it's psychological, but who the heck cares, I felt better quickly and at the time that was all that mattered.
Glad you are feeling better!
Blessings to you,
Dragonfly

It is not likely that an anti-depressant is causing this effect after only 3 days. It is most likely a combination of less stress due to the fact that your depression is being treated and the beginning of the anti-depressant effect. The other possiblility, and the reason you should report this to your doctor, is that you do not have depression but Bipolar disorder and the medication is causing a manic swing. If you are being treated by a family doctor, I suggest you get a referral to a psychiatrist to be properly diagnosed. Mania can feel good right now, but it has disasterous consequenses including another depressive episode. I suggest you call your doctor in the morning and discuss your current high. I know you don't want to give it up, but trust me, you don't want to deal with the intense depression that is sure to follow.

Yes, you are feeling the initial kick in. This can wear down after a while. You may not feel this good later on. Keep that in mind so you don't feel down and depressed about it later. The pills are a temporary thing. You need to learn about what makes you emotionally healthy and work on it. You must fix yourself. The pills are a temporary pain reliever, not a cure. Try a good mix of everything, counselling, having healthy relationships, some chi gong or yoga. No one approach will work on it's own nearly as well as treating the whole person, physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual. Good luck and hang in there.

It is said that anti-depressants take 2-4 weeks to take full effect. That's not to say that you aren't feeling some effect already. Personally, it took mine about 3 weeks until I noticed a difference.
It's great that you're feeling better though. That's the important thing.

Not a chance sweetheart. Hate to discourage you but I am pround that your days are better.
The fastest anti-depressant on the market is Zyprexia. They claim it will show results in two weeks. it will also place about 5lbs on you each week also. And check with your Dr. I developed dybetics 2 with this medication.
However; I did feel better while taking it but I turned grey and had to be hospitalized as it was prescribed with other medications that almost killed me...Effoxor, I did take for awhile but no results as what you had.

No, not really. It generally takes up to 2 wks ( or longer for the medication to "get in your system" )
I am glad however you are having a great day! Just think of how awesome you will feel when they do take full effect! Also.....attitude is a big part of the success so keep it up!

It takes time to build up, but I believe they work differently in different people. So, the answer is yes, if they work for you and you feel great, then that is wonderful.
