Personally I would not. Everyday they are taking more and more civil liberties away from us under the guise of protecting us for terrorists.
The only thing I care about it my family and if demanded to fight for something I don't believe in I would take them and leave so fast. In my opinion the terrorists have won because we are losing small freedoms each and every day. It's sickening.

right on brother.....in no way would i fight for a country that is constantly taking my basic freedoms away.

listen all you flag wavers.....freedom is a guaranteed right as a person. your country doesn't give it to you nor can you fight a war to secure it.

to all of you armed forces veterans, you were brainwashed. you did nothing to secure my freedom. you fought for nothing. having a red badge of courage makes you feel like you did something in your life, but all you did was kill people who fought for another government like you did. let the politicians kill themselves.

WAR is a horrible thing and I pray that no one ever has to experience it. I served my country for 23 years and was in every conflict since Grenada. I was wounded in Somalia and received career ending wounds while deployed to A'stan. I am no longer able to be a soldier. Would I fight for my country ? I did and I would certainly could do it all over again. I present to you young lady / man that you are a coward. Not because you would not fight, but because your hiding behind that flimsy little argument about civil liberties. If you have once ounce of courage or integrity then you just leave this country now and find another place to live, or keep your mouth shut. How the hell do you think you have the freedoms you have now ? At the very least you do not have to announce to us that you not only do not care about your fellow Americans or this country. You are a parasite who lives off the blood of others.

I know that there are people out there that do not support this war, or any war. That's fine, but to say that you would live here and enjoy all the freedoms but not defend them....well you are a coward and there is a special place in hell for you.

I learned this quote from my history teacher in Jr High " The tree of liberty sometimes must be watered with the blood of patriots". I believed that then and I still believe that to this day...

I would fight for both the USA as I CHOSE to live here and have US children, home, dog, etc.............and for the UK as that is my country of birth...............

I can not stand and look at my Husband, Brother, Father & Son knowing that they have and still do lay there life on the line JUST for me and their countries and famllies..............

And to be honest the fact that you would run of course is your choice but hun where would you run to............after a while you would run out of places to hide in as IF an invasion took place on the USA soil then pretty much you could safely assume the sh*t had TRULY hit the fan every where else.

I do find it rather sad that you would not fight to defend what you have.......and basically in there you do include your family.....are they not worth it...as running away is IMO the cowards way out and IF it came to that I would make a list of ALL those that ran in the time of need and would make DAMM sure that could never set foot on the soil again........

hell yes I would fight for my country. I have a family too. My husband is serving in the US Army, currently deployed to Afghanistan. I have a 3 month old daughter that I'd be willing to die for her freedom and her defense. I have a family too, and I live in this country that I strongly believe in!!!!

Start telling me which "freedoms" you are losing. You can't, because we are the only country where you can commit treason and you are protected by our constitution.

Pick up, leave you coward. Take your coward family with you. I hate fighting for your freedoms just so you can sit there and disgrace my sacrifice for your own selfish ***.

"War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things. The decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feeling that thinks that nothing is worth war is much worse. The person who has nothing for which he is willing to fight, nothing which is more important than his own personal safety, is a miserable creature and has no chance of being free unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself." .... John Stuart Mill.

What about other countries? If you were in, say, Palestine, which is facing the worst conditions of life in the world for so many years, would you still have this opinion? I am not sure enough.

YES I WOULD. Freedom is not cheap. I dare you to live in a country where freedom is non exsistance. I'm tired of bleeding hearts who come up with statements such as yours. if your not happy in America....move to...lets say Iran. Because of your freedom here you have the right to leave. Bye bye.

Yep. (your personal opinion is mute)

To nordic_winds1969 who wrote "My country is lost because of the politicians using the government as their personal play ground!" :

Umm, are they not elected by the people? So, are you saying then that we and you are the ones at fault? Wise up people!
