I think I will start shopping for x-mas for my girlfriend soon.
Last year I got her:
Pair of smallish diamond earrings.
$270 spa package thing which she just finished about a month ago by using on hair and other stuff
a few other smaller gifts like cd's/movies
1. She said that she really liked the spa package from last year. Would it be alright to get it for her again this year?
2. The woman at the jewelry store said that I can double the size of her earrings whenever if I bring them in. My girlfriend said that she is not interested in this. Do you think she is being modest, or would she like larger earrings and is afraid to admit it?
3. I don't think I want to buy her any other jewelry because she already has a bunch.
I like to buy a few big gifts, and a bunch of smaller ones.
Any suggestions on what some good gifts would be?
Would a surprise vacation work. or is that too cheesy?

She sounds a lot like what i like. I love it the most when my husband gives me spa certificates & stuff. I dont like jewlery at all. But get her a gift cert to her favorite store. Does she like makeup like me? You can get her a certificate to http://www.sephora.com/ Thats always so fun to order stuff. I hate it cause i spend so much on there. I think a vacation is kind of more like an anniversary gift, but you know her, not me. If you think she likes that stuff you can get you guys a room at a really nice hotel and set it up with champaine, flowers, dinner....and a hot tub. Put candles around it & rose petals in the tub. But if she really liked the certificate get it for her again. Just ask her what she wants. My hubby gets me a $100 gift certificate to Sephora & $150 to VS. Shes a lucky one. You seem like you really love her a lot.

How long have you two been together? That is a factor that should be taken into consideration when choosing gifts for her.
What is she interested in? If you know her hobbies, you could get her something that relates to them.
A surprise vacation would be pretty cool.
Another idea would be to take her to a nice store and tell her to pick out some things for herself.
That's what my boyfriend did for my birthday. I ended up with 2 CDs and 2 DVDs. He wanted to buy me more, but I wouldn't let him.
The surprise vacation would work as the BIG present, then you could get her a few small presents.

Most things that you've said would work. If she's happy with the earrings, let it go. She may just be saying that so she doesn't sound greedy.
It would be ok to buy the spa package again since she did like it. A surprise vacation would be great too. Somewhere romantic?
Any type of jewelry is always a hit, no matter how much we have!!

You already sound like a great gift-giver!
I think a surprise vacation is a good idea, as long as you know of destinations she'd love to go to. The a spa gift would be good, as long as it wasn't exactly the same--part of the fun of receiving a gift is the surprise and anticipation. I wouldn't get larger diamonds, but another piece of jewelry to match her favorite shirt, the earrings you bought last year, etc. would probably be much more appreciated. I love receiving luxuries like lotions, perfume so I can wear it knowing my boyfriend already loves it, scarves, a coffee card and brand new mug (Starbucks used to offer a mug with room for a photo), and any delicious treats.

You could surprise her with a vacation and see what the hotel's spa packages are. I think that would be nice give her some perfume. Give her something that is unique something special that could only come from you. Here's a thought give her something that she has been wanting but never could get it. It is the though that count and she will, enjoy it.

you can get her an IPOD if she doesn't already have one. Also, maybe take her to a concert with her favorite artis/.band. Perfumes are always great!. I 'm the perfume freak. Look into these

2. well maybe she doesn't want you to give her bigger earrings because she doesn't want to be greedy
3. if it is a good and romantic vacation then OF COURSE!!! maybe you could get her, her favorite cd,movie, or some cute acessories for the small gift and take her to a consert for her big gift

If I was your girlfriend, I would definitely like the surprise vacation. However, you must know if she could take off work for that. I don't personally like jewelry. How about a brand name purse? Such as LV or Burberry purse??

I think the suprise holiday sounds really nice! Just suss out if she can take the time off work and maybe talk to her boss secretly? Just so its a total suprise. It sounds like you have really good taste, so I think she will be happy with whatever you decide!
