My wife is a candy maker(Fudge, english toffee, caramel apples). Her boss was trained in candy making in Hershey Pennsylvania and he says Carmel.(Like KarmelKorn) I say Caramel. So it's strange.

It's caramel, but I usually say carmel, as in carmel corn. A lot of people that live in my neck of the woods pronounce it carmel.

Its spelled Caramel.
But some people pronounce it Carmel.

Don't know exactly what you are referring to.First, both words have different meanings.Caramel is a smooth chewy candy made with sugar, butter, cream or milk.Carmel is a city of western California on Carmel Bay.Depending on which you are referring to i guess you know how to spell it.

The city or the candy? The candy is caramel, though I seem to remember a brand-name candy called Karmels.
