If he actually SWALLOWED it then yes, you should be worried and get him to a vet right away. If he only CHEWED it up and possibly ingested little pieces he will probably just pass them out.
If he only chewed it I would keep a close eye on him for the next couple of days and make sure that he is going to the bathroom without a problem and doesn't have any type of blockage.

I would recommend going to a vet because the cord could end up in a big lump, and not pass through. Also the wires could make a hole in the stomach or intestine walls.
If your dog only ate a small piece, the diegestive juices could disolve the cord, but most likely it would pass right though your dog's system.
Does your dog seem like it is in pain?

yes, you should be worried. An extension cord is not going to pass through the intestines and may cause a blockage which will require surgery to remove. I would take your dog to the vet for xrays

Yes you should.
It could (and most likely will) obstruct a part of the intestinal tract.It could be the esophagus,the stomach or the intestine.It doesn't really matter which part will have the obstruction,in all those cases your dog will have serious problems and a number of symptoms including vomiting,lost of body weight,pain,constipation.If you don't go to a vet it can have serious consequences,it can lead to the death of your pet if you don't take care of it!Go to the nearest vet as soon as possible so that it can be removed.

Well yes it will have to come out and don't think it can come out the normal way need to take the dog to the vet.for xrays to see if there is a blockage.If people don't have money to take care of their animals Sounds like having a child,well it is if you cant care of it don't get it.
