I am with you all the way. There have been so many, including one from me, posts trying to explain the difference between scientific theory and the common use of the word "theory" that the fundamentalist layman uses. But what a waste of time, it's like having a battle of wits with an unarmed person. I've often wondered where they draw the line. They do use electric lights, drive cars, go to doctors, depend on medicines, watch TV, this list could go on forever. All those things are possible because of science, but yet science seems to be an evil thing to them. I suspect that it has something to do with cherry picking, an activity they are quite familiar with. The only reason it upsets me is that it speaks volumes about the inadequacy of our educational system.

After being here 2 months I can't believe how many people argue about subjects like The LORD Jesus Christ, The Bible, Salvation, and the Second Coming of The LORD, without knowing anything about the subject. They are clueless about the thing's of God, yet they feel obliged to chime in every time as if they know what they are talking about when someone asks a question relating to God.
I call that arrogant unbelief !

They don't want to understand it - it poses a threat to their belief system. I see a similar effect with visitors to zoos and aquariums. Some people get really into the graphics and the animals and ask questions. Most people largely ignore the graphics and just move through taking a cursory look, occasionally lingering over an interesting or unusual animal. Some spout off total BS to their kids instead of admitting they don't know and using it as an educational opportunity with their kids - an I already know it all sort of thing.

Why would you ask a geneticist about evolution? The person to ask would be a BIOLOGIST.
Anyway, fundamentalists feel that they are qualified to spout off about any subject under the sun and have God's will behind them. They obviously aren't. They are idiots. Ignore them and give their opinions no consideration. They will surely do the same to you.

Guess what - some of us Christians may really be Biochemists.
I am sure I know more about evolution than the average athiest.
Please don't generalize all.
The same question can be reversed to Athiest know all about theology.
I hope that the Christians will not pay back wrong for wrong
Thank you

metazone,
If you are talking about Christian Fundamentalists you would have to convert the pounds of booster thrust to degrees in Hell for them to understand.
If you are talking about Fundamentalist Muslims, they would demand that you convert the measurements of Booster Thrust into equivalency to the amount of TNT.
LOL :)

You assume that we , who don't buy the theroy don't study.
Another thing to think about though. My experience with God proves both what and why I believe.
There can only be one truth and He has proven Himself to me.
Why does that bother you?
We are woth a Son to God.

I know some geneticist personally. Most of them don't even concern themselves with evolution, which I don't know a one who agrees with the theory anyway.(personally of coz)
