It really depends, it might just need to patched up, or the dentist might need to redo the whole thing. If the reason you are nervous is because of the injection, then try with out. If it becomes too sensitive then the dentist will need to numb you up. Ask him to put on some topical anaesthetic first. This is a gel that's put onto your gum to make the injection more bearable, it works really well. Good luck.

The longer you leave it the worse it could be.
Losing a bit of filling means that the cavity is open and so can start to decay again. So if you go to the dentist straight away the chances are he can just re-fill it. If you leave it too long it will have to be redone completely.

Either way you should get it looked at. Re-doing the whole filling isn't any worse than having the filling put in in the first place. Fillings evetually need to be replaced anyway.

It depends on how much of the filling came out.
That happened to me some years ago, and the dentist had to drill out the old filling and redo it.

There nothing to be scared about, my mumis a dental nurse, they will probably put another filling in for you, and don't eat toffee with this one in lol.

Okay...after an x-ray they will be able to tell for sure......but should you have to be numbed have then put you under the nitrous oxide ( laughing gas) you love it and you won't care what they have to do. no worries he wont inject you!..just top it off!..and try not to eat toffee as they always remove the filling! :)
i sell sweeties! ..the worst are chewing nuts(chocolate toofee)..stay away from them! ;)
