Not all cats are purrfect, and I am sure there is a purrfectly logicat answer. Paws for thought and think what purring entails, is it really a catapthope that there is no purring from your cat?
Fur a moment try finding ways to love it more and make it feel safe, maybe try whiskering sweet nothings in its ear.
Failing all of that, de-worm it, de-flea it and send it out to get its own food, maybe then it will be more appriecative of its home comfort and think it is a purrfect time to purr again, good luck and my best wishes for a speedy purring time of it all!

most cats purr when they r healthy and happy. get him to hte vet for a check up and after that, perhaps he's not getting enough attention? I have two neutered males and they both purr.

He got tired of the same old song?
Its his twisted way of making you crazy?
Forgot the melody?
Gets paid more from the neighbors to purr?
The other cats got his tounge?
Hes now purring at sound level you cant hear?
Sold it to the Devil for a bag of catnip?

he rules the roost now, they don't purr cos they don't respect you no offence just heard it somewhere.
got to feed him after you eat and leave him out in the cold if he moaned to get out ten minutes ago. that kind of thing. they do it unwillingly but if they don't want to be there cos your inferior then they wont.
has he offered you anything yet like a mouse or a rat thats a good sign thats he's just getting older and more responsible

First of all, females are spayed and males are neutered.
Also, how are you handling him? The same as you always did? If he feels uncomfortable in your home now for any reason, this is why.

He's probably stressed, if the female is going for him i would get her checked by a vet, as somthing could be wrong,
feliway plug ins can help with the stress aswell.
