From my memory Cheeselover is right on with the prices. And it seemed at petsmart a couple of months ago the Quaker was like 425 each. At that time I was looking for a cockatiel for my sun conure as a buddie while we are gone to work. The female yellow pearl tiel cost me 150. And after all this time they are just now starting to be friends.

I don't know the pricing at a chain store like Petco; however, I know that you are most likely better off going to a breeder. The stores often do not handle the birds like they should, which could cause the bird to be hand-shy and bite. I see alot of these birds wind up at the rescue because the biting issues and shyness are often hard to overcome for someone who is new at handling birds.

You can try to goto their website to see if prices are listed.... but if you are looking to purchase a bird I recommend going directly to a breeder... it is usually MUCH cheaper... for example I was looking to get a cockatoo... the pet store (not Petco) was 1800.00, at the breeder 850.00. Also cockatiel's run about $100.00 upto $150.00 at a breeder you are looking at about $50.00 .... just make sure the breeder is licensed in your state and ask for past customer references

mabe petco has a website i dont no though so just try finding a web for it .if u dont then the next time u go their for somthing quick check the prices.
