Well, zeal is fun, and a great way to loosen up and enjoy your time there with others. Maybe you're just growing up and maturing a bit?

Zealousness is fun, but it's not a required part of Christianity. Maybe it's time for some study instead? Everyone needs change.

I'm sorry you feel like an outcast. It's easy to feel like an outsider when you're amongst another culture. Maybe find another church?

First, top marks for admitting this. I think many people feel the same but won't admit it. I think you're probably too busy. Do worship leading once a month at the most. It's the sort of job many people could do if they put their mind to it. If they can't do it then hold some classes to teach them the basics. They aren't all sheep are they? For the sake of the church it is important that nobody is indispensable. Jesus said his burden was light, so you're carrying to much. Don't go to a church service more than once a week. If it only took 7 months to get to be worship leader then you may be in the wrong church.
Why not go to a church where nobody knows you or will notice you? Go to this church several times a month and not to your regular church. This is because your focus should be God, not your position in church.
Also, I think you are spending too much time involved with the church. This is what they say about Monasteries, they didn't get out amongst the people. So why not go to night class or take up a hobby or join a club?

Yes I have felt this way. Usually when problems of just life in general get in the way of prayer and bible study. It's important to make your relationship with God the priority and everything else will fall into place.

As far as your church goes if you are a worship leader and the church is Jamaican and you are not then this is a good thing. You are a face who stands out from the crowd and this may help someone else who comes in to feel comfortable if they see you song leading. Obviously if you are part of the team then you are well accepted in this place. Race shouldn't matter in church at all although I realise there may be cultural differences. As far as I'm concerned, the more countries represented in a church the better.

You help to enrich your church by bringing what other people can't - your uniqueness.

Sweetie I am going through the extact thing you are going through. I have been fellowshipping at the same church 13 years and because many people have problems and speical needs trials are many and at times the Victorys are very few and far between and it does get very discouraging.

I am going to relocate so I have made the promise to God that I would make the most of the time I have left in this church and look to God and not look to man Psalm 118:8

My encouragement to you is to pray to God and talk to others who are of the mature faith that can give you godly counsel.
The fact that you care about this church and posting this shows that you DO have integrity.

IF God wants you to leave he will give you direction through his word, through other people and through circumstances that come up.

I know how you feel about being an outcast I am on of the few people that work in my church and I minister to these poeple with prayer and letter writing and they do have time on thier hands yet they dont reach out an minister to the Body of christ the way they ought to and I was very hurt that when my grandfather died no one sent a sympathy card and I was very sour about this for a while.

Go by faith not by sight and don't just rely on feelings and emotions rely on the word of God and Jesus and the Holy Spirit to guide you and he will one day at a time and I am praying for you. Encourager4God

I'd like to help you but your problem stems from inside of you. You can not adopt the world and hope to like everyone in it(stop reading here the rest has no bearing on your question) all of the time. I adopted the world and most of the time I don't like the people of the world. Never the less I have an obligation to fulfill. Things I want to see done in the next ten thousand years. So I keep plugging along knowing that what I am doing is best for humanity and life. Sorry I can't think that way about your church. To me churches are about death and not life.

chardonnayonice,
You have to reapply yourself. We all do at times. Your faith yesterday isn't enough for today. You have to tell yourself that you are getting lazy. And Prideful. As if you could handle everything.

Also, get away from people. If you are one of those that think that you have to be with others to pray, or just talk to God, you have to get out of that. Even a walk early in the morning, you know, what Enoch did; walk and talk with God.

You have to know by now, your life can change in a minute. Don't take things for granted. Don't forget that we are fighting a war, against the demonic world. They want you with your guard down. You know that already.

Find a Catholic Church that offers Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament. There is usually just a few people at a time there and no one will know who you are. You do not have to do anything but, just sit with the Lord and he will strengthen you. You do not have to go to that church but, just sit before him and he will do the rest.

If you are really and sincerely interested in what may be happening in your spiritual life, I pass this link on to you. It's just something to help you, no one needs to know your results. But it you are honest with yourself, it may just help your find the right direction. Besides that its fun! I have my religious education class take it to see what their "spiritual spectrum" looks like.

Not exactly.

You have decided to teach the Word of God. Thank you.

Don't think of your needs, think of theirs'.

Maybe you can fine a replacement from that culture that can take over. Do not leave them uncovered. They will lose faith and that would be your fault. Even worse, a contradictory speaker may win them over.
