it is not a matter of hate.
we just do not eat pigs coz they live in the filth.

The pig is one of God's creatures. It is not eaten because pigs, in the countries where the Koran and the Talmud were written, habitually forage for food amongst human refuse therefore their flesh was considered unclean.
Pigs are susceptible to many of the same diseases as humans, so it makes sense, in countries where animals customarily roamed free, not to use them as food.
Even in Europe, the pig is not considered a clean or respected animal. To call someone a 'pig' or a 'swine' is not complimentary in most European languages.
It is not, therefore, a question of whether Muslims hate or respect pigs. The ambivalent attitude towards pigs can be found in Muslims and Christians alike. Even Jesus is said to have sent the devils he cast out into the swine at Gadara (one has to wonder why there was a herd of swine in a country which forbad the eating of pig's flesh!).

People have to respect all of G-d's creatures.
But, the Holy Scriptures say that Pig is one of the forbidden foods to the Israelites. Islam accepts this also. And, alot of Christians to, too. So, it is not ''a Muslim thing''.

that's stupid, why would Muslims hate animals?!
That's not how you should've asked that question, in my opinion anyway.
Muslims don't eat pork cz it's forbidden (haram). Why is it haram/ forbidden?
cz pork -as modern western scientists have recently proved- is unhealthy for humans to eat.Nothing in Islam is forbidden for no good reason.
Generally speaking, and aside from Islamic teachings, my personal opinion is that pigs are filthy animals, I don't know why would humans have to do with them but learn scientific facts. What I mean is, why would someone like to have a pig as a pet?! They live in mud and eat rubbish for God's sake!
And they sound ugly too! lol
Everything has a reason, think it over.

They just do not eat them. The risk to catch a serious illnes from an ill pig was high on the old times.

Good question. I would say hate.
They don't eat it out of love but out of hate. Interesting because they are not allowed to eat other animals, like animals with claws and fangs.
Let me put it this way -the pig is not very holy.

we, muslims, don't hate pigs nor is that we respect them. pigs are haram to muslims. we are not to eat their meat. we are not to use any products that might include something off teh pigs. it is completely forbidden to eat pigs. it is even prohibited to say the name of pigs.
as for respect, they are animals and God(Allah) orders us not to slain animals without any purpose.

They are horrified by them! In fact, the most torturous thing you could do to one would be to force some pig blood onto one. Lok up what American General Pershing did to some Muslim terrorists in his day!
