someone you have been dating off and on.........says to you............."well if you are bored give me a call"

I am sure thats in some way an invitation..........but why not just say....."hey would you like to do something tonite?"

They want to spend time with you, but don't want anything serious and don't want you to think they want anything serious. It is also a flirt. I have used it before. When the guy called he said "I'm bored and thought we could be bored together." It was far from boring when we got together.

1) He wants to appear nonchalant--he can't really be rejected with such a casual invitation
2) "He's just not that into you" but is giving you consolation
