I'm a senior in college and I feel like I overwhelm others too. maybe emotionally. I feel like I am emotionally high-maintenance and have high expectations of myself; I am really hard on myself. How do I solve this?

If you are college senior, you are probably close to being burned out. It's tough going through grade school, middle school and finally, high school. You probably went into college fresh out of high school. And now, this is your last year of college. What's next? Life in the real world is next and it could be a frightening prospect. But try not to dwell on any of this now. You still have your senior year to complete. My advice to you is that you should give yourself alone time--time alone with yourself. Go to a movie. Go sit in a park and watch the birds and the kids play. Read a book that was one of your favorites when you were young. Recapture those innocent and carefree happy moments of your past. Sleep in late once in a while. Spend time with a good friend and talk about stupid stuff.
It's OK to have high expectations of yourself. It's a sign that you don't want to settle for less. That's not a downfall, that's a sign that you will do well for yourself. It seems that when others point this out to an individual, they do it because they themselves are lacking.
You need to relax. When you finish with college, just think of what is coming after as the next leg of your journey in life. Trust me, you will be just fine. You made it this far.

You may find comfort in talking to someone in the social services field. They can ask the qight questions to determine if what your feeling emotionally is normal for the period you are at in your life. Sometimes there are other factors in play that could be relieved by medication- such as depression or bi-polar. Its always a good idea to talk your feelings out with someone qualified to assist you. I am sure your school would have somewhere you could start, and see how it goes from there.
In the meantime, remember to eat/sleep well and above all else, breathe and now that each day passes, no matter how bleak they may seem sometimes.
Good luck!

You have high expectations and you are in a busy stressful period of your life.
Try to carve out time for a bit of relaxation and fun. Do something physical.
Take advantage of your school's counseling services. They can help you gain some perspective and help you with coping strategies.
Break tasks into manageable bits, and then check off each piece as it gets done. This is easier than considering the whole task all the time.
Get help and work on yourself it will pays dividends in your furture.

College is demanding, but you have to have a balance for yourself, because it you lean too much in one direction, you will topple over...Always give yourself permission to stop and smell the roses (so to speak)...you will do much better in the long run if you have a balance between the two.

Try getting more sleep and organizing your day so that you have some free time daily. If you do this, you'll get some time to relax.
