All I really want from life is to raise my kids to be successful adults.
When I was young I made a list of things I would like to achieve. Some were serious, others were not. I managed to achieve all of the serious ones, and all but one of the little pleasures.
What I have never done, that I would love to do, is walk a tightrope. Laugh if you will, but something about being high above the world with nothing to catch you if you fall sounds very liberating.
I have become disabled, and will probably never walk that tightrope. But then I think of Angel Walenda, a runaway who married into the famous Flying Walenda's family of tightrope walkers. She lost a leg to cancer, but she walked that rope again many times until her death a decade ago.
If Angel could overcome such insurmountable odds, then why shouldn't we all? So I have come to view my entire life as that tightrope. Carefully balanced and focused, you will succeed in whatever endeavor you so choose. But teeter just a little and you will fall.
Good luck in finding your purpose, stay focused, and stay strong. You have the heart of a lion, and you will go far.
EDIT: You have changed your avatar. You're smiling.

In the 36 years I've been here on Earth, I've come to a conclusion. We're all headed for the same end on this planet. Now that may sound like a negative, but let me explain...We're all going to die someday; that's the end of the journey. The journey itself is the most important part of life!!! I used to worry about success and relationships and "keeping up with the Joneses" and what other people thought of me and then came a life changing experience (sorry, no details!!) and i realized that none of that stuff is important in the least. what's truly important is personal, inner happiness...Material junk can never fill what one is lacking emotionally or spiritually...And when I released my desire for all this 'stuff', amazingly enough, things just sort of fell into place!!! I live in a dinky trailer with my expecting fiance, a cat, a turtle and a collection of books that would raise some eyebrows....and I've never been happier. Feed the hungry, give to the poor, protect the weak and help the helpless...These things will ultimately lead to a happiness that cannot be explained, but must be experienced...

We all travel different paths in life. Some do this without any thought of purpose or meaning. Some dwell too much and miss the joy of the journey.
I am close to the end of my journey. I have done well in what I wished to do with it and between now and the time I am called home, I do my best to help others on their journeys. In the end it is the lessons learned that really matters.
If you truly seek meaning, then let love and compassion be your guide. For there is more meaning and purpose in those two words than you can imagine. Do what ever you do in love and you will find the purpose of your life's path. It is a sure way to peace.
Aho,

Many of my goals I have acheived, and many have simply changed as my priorites have changed. I used to think you needed position, or power, or a big career to matter or make a difference in this world, now I realize the greatest differences, and most meaningful things are done within the walls of one's own home. I hope I will continue faithful in my religion, and I hope my ability to strenthen my home and family will become better.
best wishes
