Either stick straight or natural looking (not gelled) curls.
Also, Choppy haircuts are on their way out. Go for something more natural with longer layers. The short bob with long bangs (look up pictures of Nicole Richie) is really popular this fall.

whatever you look good in. doesn't matter what is popular. if we all wear the same hair, we all look alike, remember the commercial, US, where all the ladies piled into the streets with blond hair, wigs and the like? Blond is overdone, be as natural as possible, and choose your own path grasshopper ;)

uhh, well i either leave my hair to dry as it is and let it wave and curl and whatever by itself or dry it straight
so i suggest you have straight hair if your hair is normally straight and wavy or curly hair if your hair is wavy or curly! lol
i know im not much help but yeah, oh, and a lot of people have bangs now lol

Most girls wear their hair down with waves, or I have seen alot of girls with short hair cuts too. Personaly I think long hair is sexy
