That was not a street number -- although technically you may be right, since it is not stated what kind of number that is ("and the number of the beast is 666").
People have usually interpreted it this way: that there will be a evil character ruling the world at a certain moment in the future, whose name would give the number 666. Which means you use an old form of divination which equates each letter with a number, and then add them. The sum is the person's number and supposedly can reveal something about him (or her).
But more recently people have been concerned about a bar code system which includes the numbers 6-6-6 (coded in bars) for verifying if the bar code reading is correct.
So who knows, you might be right.

I live at 669, so I'm acrosss the road from the neighbour of the beast. Interestingly the relevant house is 665a, someone obviously doesn't want the association. However, look at the address for DC comics in New York.....

I bet their lawn is perfectly trimmed and borders immaculately clipped, with colour-co-ordinated AND seasonal planting. I bet they have a greenhouse. I bet they're always moaning about the torrid noises and stench of death coming from over the fence, not to mention the unkempt garden and copious amounts of dog poo in the front yard.
