Some psychologists work with kids who have already been diagnosed with some sort of mental disorder. However, some exclusively test kids to diagnose the problem or learning disability. They meet with parents and teachers and people like that to discuss options for treatment. They study learning styles and mental disorders and go to conferences. At least that's what the psychologist in the office next to me does.

They coucil adolescents and do paperwork. They meet with the psychiatrist and also hold group session with other adolescents that are in their caseload. The act out scenarios to help these adolescents handle certain sitations in their life. They communicate with their teachers, social workers, and other doctors that may be in their life.

the psychologist could be clinical or counseling psychologist, but this person specializes in dealing with adolescents or teenagers.
