OK for all of the ppl who like to ridicule. I am well aware of the background of my dog, i've had more than one, but this is the first male. And as far as the comment for the lady lying about 650.00 no she did not, she is a family friend and i am positive and even know for a fact what she got for the stud fee.

How old is he? How much research have you done on the breed besides just owning one? Why do you think your boxer is of breeding quality? Has he been proven to be the best of the breed receiving his Champion Title in Conformation, Agility, Obedience or Rally? Does he conform to the breed standard? Have you at a minimum had all his required breed health testings done and cleared? What are your reasons for wanting to use him at stud? Do you realize that being registered with the AKC means nothing as anyone with a purebred can register their dogs yet it means nothing in regards to the quality of the dog itself. Answer the above questions and I will be happy to tell you what fee to charge. A picture of him would also be of help in determining his breeding quality.

Are you prepared for an increase in male behaviors like marking, humping, and aggression? Stud dogs can become hard to handle and he will remain a much nicer pet if he is never used.

Have his hips, eyes, hearing and heart been examined by specialists and rated good or excellent? Brucellosis test? These are the minimum you should have checked, you wouldn't want to be reponsible for sickly puppies. The potential ***** should be checked as well.

A dog is not fully sexually mature until they are two years of age.

I recommend finding a mentor who has been breeding for a number of years to help you. Breeding (even if you own the male) is a big decision and should be done responsibly.

Your dog should also have his eyes, hips, elbows..etc checked before breeding as well, so you don't pass on hereditary problems to the litter.

Stud fees for boxer can range anywhere from $200 and up, based on the dogs lineage (champion lines, of course, earn more) or pick of the litter.

I suggest contacting the AKC's boxer contact person and asking them question prior to breeding.

I have heard from respected breeders that normally whatever you pay for your male puppy, that is usually what you should charge as a stud fee. Or you may have pick of the litter instead of the fee. Hope this helps

I wanted to find a stud for my dog too, its ridiculous how much people ask for these days! I say it should be no more than $200. paying for a stud should not cost more than buying a new dog, so I think that neighbor lady lied about the $650...

If you were smart you'd wait till he is at least 2 years old...AND LEARN MORE OF THE BREED instead of becoming a pimp for your dog...good luck

You should get the equivalent to the price that one puppy will be sold for.
