the woman who speaks to god from her heart while she works in her garden, enjoying his mairacles and trying to help them grow while singing joyful songs with no one around to impress, knows in her heart what's right and tries to treat people the way she would want to be treated if she were in their place OR the "good christian woman" who has the church service memorized and knows every hymn, never misses a sunday unless she's deathly ill, and then tells everybody just how ill she was, always puts ten in the plate and occasionally sings with the choir, has forced all four of her kids to go to church until they turn eighteen, and hassles all who know her to come to church with her next sunday, whether they like it or not?

I can see your point, and the answer should be the gardener. BUT....the gardener is trying to abuse God's will! If He wants to be worshipped then He should be, like the second woman is doing! The first woman is trying to alter His creation, thinking she can do better, essentially what the Devil did! On the other hand, you don't mention if these two women were married in the eyes of the Lord, and no mention of a husband is made. Therefore the second woman has four bastard children and should go to Hell, and the first woman has a better relationship! Then again, why is the first woman trying to alter His creation instead of looking for a Husband to fulfill her Christian duty?

Your question raises so many more questions than you can realise!!!

I am an atheist, by the way.

Although both women seem to be happy enough in their own way, it seems as though woman #2 seems more caught up in the ceremony of it all and that she's forgotten that worship can be as simple or as elaborate as the individual wishes. It doesn't necessarily mean they are any less committed to their faith and worship is a very personal thing. It is also an act of free will though and I don't think anyone ever gets anywhere by making somebody go to church. God is omnipresent anyway - well that's what I believe!

WE ALL HAVE THE SAME RELATIONSHIP with God regardless of who we are, where we live, whether we go to a church on not. There is only one god. It's just that some idiots think they know better than some and are always trying to preach and ram their religion down someone else's thoat. The same god made all of us. You are no better than anyone else.

If you wanna go to church 24 hours a day, then do that and stop worrying about who doesn't. It's not your business to control everyone's religion. I'm sure god will thank you for minding your own business.

The first woman needs to go to Church every week and make an effort to share the Gospel with people.

The second woman is doing everything right as far as I can tell, but I can't really say further because you didn't tell me what her inner life was like.

Basically if you put the two women together you could get a wonderful Christian woman.

Okay... i vote for the answer in your question.
The people who have better relationship with god are the ones who actually talk to God, without messengers or intermediaries.

And so, he or she, understand what god has to say to THEM, personally, and they not believe the things that other people want us to think god tells us.

One day we all will find out where we stand but in this experience of life I think it is best to do as little harm as possible and try to understand others who live by different values and I don't think God judges any of us

Neither. I have the best relationship with god -- none.
Since he's a make-believe being invented by ignorant savages thousands of years ago to explain their world, it's impossible to have a relationship with an imaginary friend...
so my relationship is the best one (and the only one that makes any logical sense!).
