As you already have dogs I am somewhat perplexed that you did not introduce all the dogs to each other on 'neutral' territory. Are both your dogs the same sex? Are they neutered? How old is your other dog? Where did you get this dog from, as she is an older dog, surely you must have some past history of where she lived before or have you tried to contact the people you brought her off for a history? I think it is in this dogs interest if you take her to a rehoming centre where they will try and address any problems she has before finding her a suitable home...if you are insistent in giving her away, please take the time to assess the potential homes she may be going to. I do hope you think again before rehoming another dog in the future

Take her to the Canine Defence League (now called the Dogs Trust) - they'll rehome her, and don't have a policy of putting a healthy dog down because it can't be rehomed. Either that, or your local Blue Cross, who will have the same policy.
The links below will be able to give you more information.
Please, please, under no circumstances, give her away to a response on the internet. You don't know who you're giving your dog to.

Finally, are you sure that you're giving your two dogs a chance? Of course there'll be some posturing between them both at the start. You say yourself that it takes time - a few weeks isn't a long time for one dog to establish dominance over the other. Go on - give them a few months more... (we're in the same situation with our two cats, so I do sympathise, but there's no way we were going to send Layla back to Cat's Protection - and, now, after three months, they're starting to get on. They might not ever be best bosom buddies, but they're not fighting each time they see each other... It's a start.)

Before giving her away you could try separating them in the house and then taking them out together for a walk. In ths way the older dog wont be feeling so threatened and has no terratory to defend. Also praise the older dog whilst the younger dog is in the room, but first put them on a leash when introducing so YOU are in control. Hope its nice in Wigan, I used to live there in Scholes. Good luck whatever you decide

how can it be a pedigree if it is a cross between a border terrier and a lakeland terrier? Why are you moving to a home which won't accept her? Have you asked the landlord if he will accept a higher deposit and a little more rent if you can keep her? Please don't ever get another pet since you are so quick to get rid of them.

sarah, please becarfull who you rehome her to,
if you want some web addresses to rescues that could help,
please e-mail me on jane002@hotmail.co.uk,
i'am in wigan also, so could transport her to the rescues,
dont be put off by rescues as most small ones keep the dogs in foster home's.
