I dont understand how you can follow half of Science and History but not the other half because it contradicts a beleif that is purely "Faith". Either you belief Scientific principles and proof or you do not. Either you believe in history and historical proof or you do not. Why is it okay to believe these two fields of study right up tp the point of it contradicting your "Faith".

Okay, I'll spell this out for the ignorant. If the Bible starts out with the creation of Earth and goes from there. Why is there no mention of the Dinosuars?
Thats an example of history
Here is one for Science. Everytime Science proves one of your beleifs wrong you eventually back off from your beliefs after chastising the Scinetist using PROOF to back up his claims. Like the Sun revolves around the Earth. You on the other hand have no PROOF of your Fatih yet you dismiss scientist who do have proof that many of your beleifs are false.

Tim all you have done is merely contradicted yourself. If there were actual proof of God there would be no need for Faith. Without Faith you have no religion. So stop contradicting youself. No miracle has ever been performed that can be tested, proven or isnt in an ancient book that is easily a rip off of stories that were actually told thousands of years earlier.

Scientist NEVER claim to have all the answers. They come up with the best answer they can for each situation. You religious types beleive think that you have all the answers. That is very narrow minded dont you think.
Also it is almost impossible to prove that something does not exist. But its extremely easy to do a little research and see that religion is Bull$hit. Try it sometime. Just for fun. It will open your eyes. Stop the fear, ignornace, and hate. Religion kills. It has killed far more people than any war or plague and yet your think its a good thing. We are way too intelligent to believe fear based ancient texts with hundreds of contradictions and proven falsehoods.
Stop attacking me and stick to my question. Why you as a religious person do you believe Science and History until it contradicts your Fatih?

You make me laugh. Why should you beleive a rediculous book filled with stories that are thousands of years older than the bible. Just because a book says the Bible, why should you believe its rediculousness. At least Science and History have PROOF to back up thier claims. Where is your proof.

Because they want the benefits of biology, chemistry and physics without having to understand them or acknowledge them. There's no one quite so disposed to knock education and learning as the willfully ignorant and intellectually lazy. They want vaccines, and fuels, and airplanes, but they want to hang onto magical thinking. I would be shocked if any the regular thumpers posting here have a bachelor's degree in a pure science, because thinking makes their heads hurt. If we still believed disease was caused by evil spirits as these sort of Bible thumpers once insisted, where would we be? These same sort of rattle shaking primitives once insisted the earth was flat, pointed to the Bible for support of slavery, insisted it was heresy to say the sun didn't revolve around the earth, they still deny the evidence of evolution, but blithely accept men living in fish bellies, many of them still insist on the inferiority of women, and not a small portion believe demons and angels are locked in an invisible war on all sides of us.
Most of us realize this kind of comic book crap is something adults should know better than to believe. But these people are like the Lost Boys of Peter Pan. They refuse to leave Never Never Land and grow up.
And I just saw this moron state that the resurrection of Jesus is a proven historical fact. What's the point of even talking to such a complete ****tard?

So far, no one has come up with an established scientific principle that contradicts the existence of God.
Either science has failed to establish all parameters (like evolution and the lack of a clear fossil record, or real evidence of macro-evolution) or someone's faith has misinterpreted God's will.
The discovery of the New World, for example. No one knew of the existence of two new continents and their inhabitants. There was no accounting for them in the bible in the 15th century. Was this God-shaking evidence? Hardly. Christianity had to expand its horizons, is all.
Evolution; scientific law, or scientific assumption? It seems well-established, but the picture is far from complete.
Even if we have evidence that the world is billions of years old, and it contradicts our Biblical assumption that the world is only 5400 years old, then we need to remember that God works with his own economy of time.
Even if we discover life on other worlds; whole civilizations, then we'll have to expand what we know with what we've assumed until we have some proof that God is absent.
I don't think that day will arrive.
Keep asking tough questions! God loves people who are "discerning".

What contradiction are you referring to?
If you work from the perspective that there are things we cannot understnad given our current state of scientific knowledge, to do not see that as a contradiction.
I do not see a contradiction in the Biblical account of creation and most of the current theories of the creation of the universe.
If you are referring to Darwinian macro evolution, as just about everyone who asks this sort of question is, might I point out that as a theory macro evolution is unproven and in fact has been scientifically disproven due to microbiology, et al.
In history, there is not any events that contradict the accounts of the Bible that I am aware of. If you have one I would like to hear it.
So let me ask you this rebuttal; how can you stick to your science and history when confronted with supernatural events? I point specifically to the resurrection of Jesus, a proven historical fact. If you are a die hard scientific materialist you cannot accept a supernatural event, but the event is contrary to the laws of nature. How can you not have faith?

Not sure what you mean. Contrary to popular belief science and Christianity are not "opposites" or anything. The scientific method was developed in the Judaeo/Christian milieu exactly Because believers in a Creator expected to find an orderly universe. And the history comment is even stranger. The events in the Bible are space/time historical events. Kind of a basic point in Christianity. The Christians I know are way more interested in, and knowledgeable about, history than the average American adult.

I dont think everyone is like that.Granted most people are. Im a believer of god. But I do question those who believe the bible completely..First the bible has been translated at least 5 times who knows if the translators missed a few things..second .. for those who believe that bible was written by god..your wrong it was his aposles that did..who know if they wrote it down right..So I think that people who only believe half of science are not thinking straight..Its okay to beleive in god but dont be a bigot..

It does not contradict. If you look for something hard enough you will find it. The proof is there, it just hasn't all been discovered yet. If you believe something hard enough, like in Science, you will find a way to make it work. Evolution is just a one fancy way of explaining God's mysteries. There are many explanation. I prefer to listen to my creator. My "faith" will eventually reveal the truth. There is not a black and white if you believe in science. God created everything. He created science. He created the mysteries of the world. It is up to us to see his creations and listen to His Word or not.

Scientists are unsure about their own theories that go against common religions, but those religious people are phenomenally secure in their faith.
I don't understand why people can't believe at least somewhat in evolution though... It has so much evidence to support it it's overwhelming. What does religion have? Not much.
