That sounds like just the right amount. Our canned foods (large) come around 6 oz. One of my cans says one can per 8 lbs. body weight and eight lbs is an ideal weight for the majority of female cats.

Whiskas, however, is an atrocious food. Using by-product meats for their protein source. We now have numerous brands of excellent, high-quality foods here in the US and it must be the same for you in the UK.

Hopefully someone from the UK will give you tips on better foods available to you and where you might find them.

1 can a day and the dry stuff should be plenty. You can't really overfeed a cat as they just wont eat once they get full. Thats why you can leave dry food out all day and not worry that they will scarf it all down...in most cases... We took in this fat @ss cat that would eat non stop. A lot of dogs are like that and should only be fed a few times a day and not have food left out.

Sometimes the back of a bag of cat food or the can will say the average amount to feed a cat and give a list of weights. So you can get a good idea on if she is getting too much.
