We have no more welfare in this state.

I don't know how it all works, but it was meant in the first place to be a temporary thing. But they did not make it a rule that it was a temporary thing, so people took advantage. So now its gone. yet we send all kinds of millions to help other countrys. But the gov. could not spare the 13 million for welfare-when they spend tens of billions on other countries to help them.

I would rather my taxes help out a homeless person than be sent to another country.

And I do not like the way the illegals are taking advantage of benefits here. My tax money should go to people who are going to try to contribute to the society, not someone who is illegal.

Hell yeah! Why work when they are getting money for doing nothing? It's us tax payers that are supporting them. I would love to know who gets most of the welfare. There are alot of people that say the immigrants. If that's true, then hell, why not let their whole family know how easy it is so they can come over and soak it up also. Other countries need to get their own welfare system to support their people. Pretty soon there isn't going to be enough money to cover everyone. Then what?

For legal citizens, remember this. With a little bad luck or bad health you could be reliant on the welfare system. Medicare, Medicaid, cash assistance, disability, food stamps, etc. They are all forms of assisitance for those who fall on hard times. And there ARE requirements for those folks to create a plan and get employed if physically possible. And states monitor for fraud. So in reality, most folks who are reliant on welfare are only on it temporarily and do want to get back on their feet. But the answer to the illegal alien question that you asked would be this. Mexico needs to fix their own system. The United States should not have to carry the burden of Mexico's problem. Those illegals are also lowering wages in the U.S.

Numerous forms of welfare are not considered under the public charge test, including food stamps, pre-natal care, nutrition programs, housing assistance, energy assistance, job training programs, child care services, free or reduced school lunch, public shelters, health clinics.Illegal aliens are receiving benefits meant only for legal residents, granted erroneously by the agency, when present identification that has been, shared, stolen,or produced by forgery.....

u might have a point there, but not quite so,, yes there are toomany lazy basr¿tards livin on welfare and not taking the jobs, someone has to take them tho,, but the illegal immigration is psrtly becouse of the way worl economics is based, the distribution of money in the world is uneven and it all goes back to the wealthy countries who use most of that money to support some lazy btrds

yes welfare is part of the problem. They figure if they have 8 kids they can get food stamps, a medical card, and cash! I don't think illegals should be allowed any type of help. They should suffer or take their happy butts back to where they came from!

Because the illegal aliens are stuck with living in slum places because they are illegal they learn from the welfare generations how to use the system. Who do you think is teaching them all this stuff it started somewhere. Locally they cover up the fact that the children in the school systems are children of illegal aliens often illegals themselves because the school systems were shutting down because the people who were having children were moving away from Fort Walton Beach as they moved to better places that were not run down. The Hispanics have rejuvenated the local economy such that they are well tolerated as they are willing to live in substandard overpriced run down housing which after they make the owners some money are often torn down and replaced with hopefully better places that they help build. Very few are lazy as they have to work hard for what they earn. But I think Welfare should not be a way of life for anyone to include US citizens but as long as the parents remain illegal no one can check their income by social security numbers because they are underpaid for long hours with cash which the bosses report to the IRS as being much more always.

Our welfare system is a total disaster, and it was long before immigration became such a hot topic.

Yes. And to those saying they cannot receive welfare, I ask you this.........When they cross the border (illegally) and give birth to a child in the United States, who exactly is paying for the hospital bill? Or...are they giving birth out in the desert or a field somewhere? SOMEONE is paying the bill. Who is it?

I believe it is part of it... as well as it "encourages laziness and fosters bad work ethics" and unemployment among our fellow US citizens.
