Key to success: look for a kitten or cat that approaches you confidently, without whining or mewing. One that is interested in you, but not overly "clingy". It worked for me. When you introduce it to your present cat, be prepared for a few days of hissing, howling, and general unpleasantness. Cats do take a while to adapt to each other.

thanks for adopting! there are the variety of tremendous number of accessible cats that you'll locate the perfect one. First, verify the shelters internet website and be conscious in case you could print out the making use of at living house. verify criteria too - it's going to make the adoption procedure bypass a lot swifter. as long as you're the area, make confident you verify the accessible animals. The cat you've an pastime in will be followed by skill of the time you get there, in spite of the indisputable fact that it provides you with an theory of what's accessible. once you bypass to the protect, i'd bypass with the cat that you only can't get out of your recommendations. As one poster pronounced, cats in shelters are not continually themselves, so study the playing cards that contains the cat, communicate with the employees they'd have better techniques. also, make a level of searching at that shy cat contained in the again of the cage. they are regularly the sweetest cats on the humane society. Oh, and ask team about what their favourite cat is. the employees regularly have a fave it truly is been on the protect for a lengthy time period, has the suited personality, and no you'll decide why the cat continues to be there.

Get a female cat. Males will spray the entire house. Names are your option, as are colors, because it all depends on what you think is cute. They should be around 2-3 months old so that they have time to adjust to you and your surroundings as they grow and become accustomed to that environment.

Depends on your lifestyle. Doesn't matter male or female, as long as they're spayed/neutered. cats need less attention, but kittens are good if you have a lot of time on your hands. About names, anything that the cat/kitten reminds you of!
Common names:
snowy
mittens
fuzzy
furball
Names i like: edward, winry, black hayate, roy, andelot (t is silent)

Hee hee hee .... seriously, we are probably not in the best position to answer these questions for you!!! Just go to the shelter and pick out a cat that just tugs on your heartstrings..... you will know who to take home with you.
Heck, take two ... they are small! (Especially kittens!)
Purrrrrrs to you and your new family member(s)!

i luv cats! you should get a kitten, but not 2 young... maybe like 8-9 weeks! they r sooo cute! I like calico or orange and white cats! especially girl cats cuz they are the closest u can relate 2. i hav 1male and 1 female, brother and sister, and they argue alot. the male always feels superior and the female is the sweetest cat i know! she talks 2 me and sleeps w/ me @ night. But mostly wut eva one walks ova 2 u first, u should get because they are the more loving and respecting ones! *good luck*

do not go in there with any pre - indeas at all.
Interview each one and you will find your match - no matter the colour, age or sex.
Thank you for going to a shelter and taking at least one ( if there are litter mates... consider taking them both / all, they are so much company for each other )
